Each Little Explorers session follows a familiar rhythm, so children know what to expect while still having freedom to explore.
Children gather to read and discuss one innovator's story from Hidden in Plain Sight! Educator invites the children to notice the problem the innovator observed and ask open-ended questions to spark curiosity.
Children share ideas about how the innovator's solution worked and how it connects to the world around them. This builds language, listening and critical thnking skills.
Using Simple, reusable materials, children begin building a 3D project inspired by the innovator. Children work independently or with peers, experimenting and problem solving as they create.
Children are encouraged to adjust their designs, add details or revisit their work. Projects may continue across multiple days within the session. However, each new week allows for deeper exploration of the book.
Sessions close with a brief reflection where children can show their work, describe what they tried, or share what they discovered. Reflection is optional and child led.
This Flexible structure supports independence, creativity, and confidence while honoring different learning styles and paces. There is no pressure to finish--curiosity and effort are what matter most.
